Mass Surrender of Junta Forces to Karen National Liberation Army and People Defense Force in Myanmar

In a significant development, 400 junta regime soldiers from Light Infantry Division – 275 surrendered to the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People Defense Force (PDF) in Myawaddy town, Karen state, southern Myanmar.

The PDF has verified this surrender and has begun transporting the large cache of weapons seized from the junta’s military base. Another unverified report claims an additional 600 soldiers from Light Infantry Division – 357 also surrendered to the KNLA and PDF, a claim backed by the Albino Tiger Company – 1, a PDF unit.

These surrenders highlight the declining support for the junta regime and the rising momentum of the resistance forces. The event deals a severe blow to the regime’s military capabilities and demonstrates the diminished morale and unity among its ranks, further emphasizing the increasing vulnerability of the junta in the face of steadfast opposition.
